The director of a plastic recycling company has been sentenced to 10 weeks in prison after a worker’s arm was amputated.
Wrexham Magistrates’ Court heard how the employee of Clark Technologies Wales Ltd was injured whilst he was cleaning out the plastic washing plant at their recycling facility on Deva Industrial Park, Deeside.
The Health and Safety Executive’s investigation into the incident, which occurred on 6 December 2016, found that no safe system of work existed for operation of the machine and the site had not appointed a competent person to provide health and safety advice.

I am pleased that you are helping dispel some of the dafter myths that surround OH&S (a passion you and I clearly have in common) and the item clearly indicates that as with so many of our professional colleagues you are not about stopping fun on the pretext of H&S. It is only with the help of people such as yourself that we will eventually get the message across that OH&S is about bringing (as you so aptly put it) purpose and value to peoples lives
