Sickness Absence Management
Sickness absence management helps with:
- identification of the real causes of the sickness absence so the root cause can be tackled (stress at work, a bad DSE set-up, manual handling issues, etc.)
- Identify what reasonable adjustments can be made at work to allow the person to return in some capacity. Equality Act
- Co-ordinating the employee rehabilitation programme
- Helps the company tackle the absence and get the employee back to work quickly and safely.
Sickness absence management (Management Referrals) appointments are normally carried out by our qualified Occupational Health Advisers. The appointments can be face to face, or over the telephone. A full report will be written following the appointment and sent with the employee’s consent to the referring manager.
In some circumstances, an onward referral to an Occupational Physician may be required. This can be arranged in your local areas if/when required.
