Nick Evans, Managing Director
Nick has worked in the health and safety industry for 18 years. He formed Safewell because he wanted businesses to benefit from sensible and easy to understand occupational health, and health & safety advice. Where time permits Nick is an examiner for the NEBOSH a National qualifications body.
In his spare time Nick runs Movewell Taekwondo and is a 4th Degree black belt. He also enjoys road cycling, strength and movement training, and spending quality time with his family. 2015 latest challenge is learning to slackline!
There is a real passion behind the reasons he created Safewell, but three reasons stand out:
- To promote and ensure sensible and proportionate health and safety advice is available to all businesses
- To change the image of health and safety consultants to dynamic and enabling professionals
- To promote the high standards necessary to give competent health and safety advice
Gail Farrow, Occupational Health Director
Gail heads up our occupational health division and has worked for over 25 years in occupational health and safety, many of which in senior positions. Being dual trained in occupational Health, and health & Safety enables Gail to offer a unique service to our clients, which is second to none. Gail has a passion for Occupational Health and believes that good health is good for all businesses and healthier workplaces have better financial results.
In her spare time Gail enjoys the theatre, spending time at her holiday home and looking after her grandson.
Michelle, Health & Safety Adviser
Michelle joined the Safewell Team in 2013. She has been working in health and safety for over 20 years and has experience working in enforcement within the public sector as an Environmental Health Officer and as a Health and Safety Consultant within private consultancies and large organisations. She also has qualifications in Food Safety Management and Fire Safety.
When not taxi driving her children to various activities, in her spare time Michelle enjoys; singing in the local choir, running, mountain walking and socialising with family and friends over dinner and wine.
Helen Sherwood, Health & Safety Adviser
Helen joined Safewell’s Health and Safety Team in January 2016. She began her H&S career qualifying and working for 8 years as an HSE Inspector in the south west doing inspection, investigation, audit and enforcement work. This was in a variety of industry sectors with employers of all sizes as well as with major public sector employers, particularly local authorities, NHS Trusts and the MOD.
She then left HSE specifically to broaden her knowledge and experience in facilities management and construction and worked as a Site Manager/H&S Advisor in education and housing for 9 years.
In her spare time Helen enjoys playing league squash and taking her two dogs out for long country walks.
Allison Collett, Occupational Health Technician
Alli has worked with Nick and Gail for over 8 years, at Safewell and a previous employer. As well as keeping all the cogs turning, she does a great job holding the fort and keeping the team in check!
Alli is the main contact if you call the office.
In her spare time, Alli enjoys dancing, lunching with her girlfriends and spending lots of time with her three Grandchildren.
Dave Pixton, Health & Safety Adviser
David is a member Safewell’s Health and Safety team. He joined in 2015 seeking career change and to meet Safewell’s growing demand for health and safety services.
He currently holds the NEBOSH General Certificate and is studying for the NEBOSH diploma.
In his spare time David is a black belt and former international champion in Taekwondo and enjoys early morning training and backgammon
Joy Forrest, Office Manager
Joy joined Safewell in 2012 after having a career break to look after her son. Joy is the Office Administrator booking appointments and answering enquiries. Joy has a background in Sales and reception. In her spare time Joy like socialising with friends, reading and going to the cinema.
Ida Okkels, Occupational Health Technician
Ida joined Safewell in 2015 looking for a new challenge following a background in Health and Social Care. She is part of the Occupational Health Team and most of her time is spent with customers carrying out health surveillance for their staff at their places of work.
At home she has a small ‘zoo’ with a dog, chickens and a hamster; alongside the zoo she grows a bit of fruit and veg in the garden. She is also what somebody might call an obsessive DIY’er and enjoy all sorts of creative activities. Her other interests include cooking, keeping fit and healthy, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Tracey O’Neil, Occupational Health and Safety Administrator
Tracey joined Safewell Ltd in March 2016 after being out of the office for a few years working in care and hotel hospitality allowing her to work and taking time to bring up her son. Her background is in secretarial and office work, management and letting.
In her spare time Tracey likes to cook with a nice glass of red! and evenings out with friends. Also when she is not taxi driving her son around to various activities, enjoys taking watching films at the local cinema.
Martin Anzalucca, Health and Safety Adviser
Martin joined Safewell’s Health and Safety Team in November 2016. He began H&S career conducting fire risk assessments on Residential Properties before moving onto Logistics and Warehousing. Before turning to Health and Safety, martin was a qualified blacksmith and welder for 10 years and an LGV driver.
In Martin’s spare time he enjoys motoring biking across Europe, Boxing and living life to the full.
Sally Demuth, Occupational Health Adviser
Sally worked as an registered nurse for seven years before making a career change to occupational health within the NHS. She joined Safewell in 2016 to broaden her training.
She is married with three children. In her spare time, Sally enjoys knitting and crochet with “assistance” from her three dogs and cat.
