Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
Safewell have been dealing with an increased volume of enquiries sparked by the new CDM regulations 2015.
Individuals and companies from varying backgrounds and sizes are unsure if the new regulations apply to them and if they do, what they should do about it.
Main Considerations for CDM 2015
Following comprehensive examination of the regulations, Safewell have been able to furnish their clients with a clear summary of the regulations and practical advice. This has helped their clients not only have the confidence in complying with their legislative duties, but also the do deal with any unforeseen gaps in their health and safety arrangements in particular those who work around Domestic CDM. Clients have described this service as useful.
In summary ALL projects must have:
Workers with the right skills, knowledge, training and experience
Contractors providing supervision, instructions and information
A written construction phase plan
In addition, whether the work is domestic or non-domestic where there is more than one contractor it must have all of the above plus –
The appointment of a Principle Designer and a Principle Contractor
A health and Safety File
In addition if the work is scheduled to last longer than 30 days AND have more than 20 workers working simultaneously at any point on the project or exceeds 500 PERSON DAYS it must also be notified to the HSE.
