The Timber sawmill company had only an in-house Fire Risk assessment and understood that it didn’t adequately cover the fire risks of the business. It contacted Safewell for a Fire Risk assessment from a competent Fire Risk assessor to identify what it needed to do to ensure the premises and also staff training were compliant with the fire risks that the business had.

Safewell’s Fire Risk Assessor visited the premises and met with the Management Team and staff, then carried out a comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment which provided the business with a Recommendation Action Plan. By talking to the staff and walking the site thoroughly, we were able to dial right in on the actual hazards present on site. Advice on staff fire marshal, extinguisher training, and a fire evacuation plan was also given. A plan was made to follow up and review the company’s progress with recommendations in The Fire Action Plan and provide advice as required.
