A small construction and refurbishment company became aware of the new CDM 2015 regulations (Construction, Design and Management) regulations 2015 and in particular the new requirements relating to domestic projects. The director wanted to make sure his company was complaint with new CDM 2015 regulations with regard to domestic clients and their domestic extensions. He also wanted to understand his responsibilities as a principle contractor and principle designer.
Safewell Solution
Safewell visited the offices in Wootton Bassett and firstly explained with the duties of the principle contractor and principle designer are under CDM 2015, in particular in relation to small and mid-sized domestic products. We were then able to tailor our Construction and CDM H&S Packages to fit this particular construction and refurbishment company. The H&S package included templates for a Construction Phase Plan, health and safety file, risk assessments and method statement (RAMS), safe systems of work, sub-contractor health and safety management guidance and short worker training sessions. To ensure the package was relevant one of Safewell’s advisers spent time with the workers understanding the risks and particulars of the companies working practices. The workers were also able to visit Safewell offices at a time convenient to them to have health checks to ensure fitness and health for work.
