Problem to Solve

One of our customers who were already on our Retained Health and Safety Adviser Support contract decided they wanted to become CHAS accredited to aid them in tendering for work and to help grow the company. Normally, a company with very little health and safety in place would need to create risk assessments, method statements, a health and safety policy, a plan and record of health and safety training to name a few to acheive CHAS accreditation.

Safewell Solution

Safewell looked at the health & safety requirements for the CHAS accreditation and informed the company what steps it needed to take to get to where they needed to be. Whilst the company has many good health and safety documents already in place they required additional records to demonstrate their ways of working safely to an external reviewer to enable CHAS accreditation. These included sub-contractor health and safety questionnaires, toolbox talks, site safety inspections & a few tweaks to risk assessments & their health and safety policy.

Safewell helped amend already existing documentation, assisted where additional health & safety documents were required and made sure they were reflective of the actual working safety practices of the customers. We also advised the customers how to implement the revised health and safety standards. Finally, we then helped fill in the CHAS questionnaire and send it off for accreditation and approval.
