Working at Height Risk Assessment and Solutions for a Gas and Heating Company, Wiltshire

Dec 13, 2017 | Risk Assessment, H&S Policy & Manual, Retained H&S Adviser, Work at Height

Problem to Solve

The gas and heating services company were aware that they needed a working at height risk assessment for flue installations via roof access and for other work from ladders and roof inspections. Already an existing retained health and safety customer of Safewell they contacted us to discuss their specific requirements for working at heights.

Safewell Solution

Safewell accompanied the heating engineers on site installation visits to carry out a working at height risk assessment which included  flue installations. The assessment identified several potential solutions to reduce risks from working at height and accessing roofs. Safewell helped arrange demonstrations of possible alternative safer work equipment. Safewell also prepared a staff Working at Height Safety Handbook to support the new safe systems of work put into place for ladder use, roof access and flue installations.
