Problem to Solve

The gentleman had had a right total knee replacement that unfortunately was not successful. This left him in considerable pain and unable to flex his knee or weight bear fully. His recovery time kept being extended and he was unable to return to his contractual role. This required the company to contact Safewell to arrange an Occupational Health referral.

Safewell Solution

Safewell’s Occupational Health worked closely with the company and the gentleman to undertake the necessary risk assessments and make recommended adjustments to enable him to continue working in some capacity. Unfortunately, he required a second operation that was only partially successful and he was referred back to Occupational Health repeatedly to refine his adjustments and risk assessments. Eventually he was referred to the Occupational health Physician to assess his fitness to work. He is currently still at work and managing in an adjusted role.
