Our first open course in Fire Marshal training took place at Safewell yesterday, with twelve attendees now certificated Fire Marshals in their workplace. The course teaches the skills required to identify and reduce fire hazards at work, take charge in the event of a fire, and ensure safe evacuation.
Training included learning about the different types of extinguishers, with everyone given the opportunity to experience using these correctly.
Our trainer, Butch, has a thirty-year career in the fire service, so has plenty of experience, along with real-life situations to share.
This half-day course is designed for any member of staff looking to become a designated fire marshal at their workplace. With lots of interest, we’ve now scheduled two further courses to take place at our Royal Wootton Bassett offices in March and June 2024.

I am pleased that you are helping dispel some of the dafter myths that surround OH&S (a passion you and I clearly have in common) and the item clearly indicates that as with so many of our professional colleagues you are not about stopping fun on the pretext of H&S. It is only with the help of people such as yourself that we will eventually get the message across that OH&S is about bringing (as you so aptly put it) purpose and value to peoples lives
